Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality (CPI) Postdoctoral Scholar Caitlin Ahearn presented an update on research-in-progress examining whether receiving Guaranteed Income improves modifiable cancer risk factors at the Upstream Research Center Annual Retreat in June 2025. This research project uses experimental data from the California Department of Social Services (CDSS)’s Guaranteed Income Pilot Program to assess the impact of GI on cancer intermediaries among low-income populations. Partners include CDSS, the Urban Institute, and the Stanford Center for Population Health Sciences.
